Privacy Policy — Bong Tribe App
How the Bong Tribe mobile app handles your information.

This Privacy Policy explains how the Bong Tribe mobile app (the App, package name com.bongtribe.store) handles information. The App is operated by Bong Tribe (we, us, our), which runs the online store at https://bongtribestore.com.
By using the App, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
ABOUT THE APP
The App is a mobile shopping experience for our online store. It displays the pages of https://bongtribestore.com inside the App, so you can browse products, place orders and contact us from your Android phone. The store itself is hosted and operated using Shopify.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT
The App does not ask you to create a separate account, and we do not run our own servers that collect data inside the App. Information is collected in the following ways:
- Information you give us on our store – When you browse or place an order on bongtribestore.com, we and our service providers collect information such as your name, email address, phone number, shipping and billing address, order details and any messages you send us. This happens on the store's web pages shown inside the App, in the same way as on our website.
- Payment information – Payments are processed by Shopify and the payment providers shown at checkout. We do not receive or store your full card number, UPI details or other payment credentials.
- Notification information – If you allow notifications, the App uses Firebase Cloud Messaging (a Google service) so we can send you updates about new products, offers and store news. For this, Firebase generates an app installation identifier and a device token, and your device is subscribed to a general notification topic. We do not link this to your name or order history.
- Automatically collected information – Our store, Shopify, and Google (Firebase) may automatically collect technical data such as device type, Android version, IP address, app version, language, crash and diagnostic information, and cookies or similar identifiers, to keep the service working and secure.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera data through the App.
HOW WE USE INFORMATION
We use information to:
- show you the store, process and deliver your orders, and provide customer support;
- send notifications you have allowed about offers, new releases and store updates;
- keep the App and store secure, prevent fraud and fix technical problems;
- improve our products and the shopping experience;
- meet legal and tax obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
NOTIFICATIONS
Notifications are optional. On Android 13 and above, the App asks for your permission. You can turn notifications off at any time in your phone's Settings > Apps > Bong Tribe > Notifications, or by uninstalling the App.
SHARING OF INFORMATION
We share information only with service providers that help us run the store and the App, and only as needed for those services:
- Shopify – store hosting, checkout, order management and related services (see Shopify's privacy policy).
- Payment providers – to process your payments.
- Shipping and delivery partners – to deliver your orders.
- Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging) – to deliver notifications to your device.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or to prevent fraud or harm. If our business is sold or reorganised, information may be transferred to the new owner. These providers have their own privacy policies and handle data under their own terms.
COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES
The store pages shown in the App use cookies and similar technologies (for example, to keep items in your cart and remember your session). You can clear this data from your device's App settings, which may sign you out or empty your cart.
DATA RETENTION
We keep order and customer information for as long as needed to fulfil orders, provide support, and meet legal, tax and accounting requirements. Notification identifiers are kept until you uninstall the App or the identifier expires.
SECURITY
The App connects to our store using encrypted (HTTPS) connections. We use reasonable measures to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
YOUR CHOICES AND RIGHTS
Depending on where you live (including India and other countries with data protection laws), you may have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- correct or update it;
- request deletion of it, subject to legal record-keeping requirements;
- withdraw consent, for example to notifications.
To make a request, contact us using the details in Section 11. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted at the same web address with a new effective date. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
